Samuel A. Navarro Ortega, Ph.D. is an Applied Linguist in the department of French, Hispanic & Italian Studies at The University of British Columbia. He teaches courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels on topics about Hispanic Linguistics as well as Spanish language at all levels of proficiency. His research interest include the conceptualization of verbs of motion by Anglophone learners of Spanish and experiential language learning and teaching. He is currently working on telecollaboration projects through which Spanish learners in Canada hold computer-to-computer online interactions with Hispanophones in Latin America. The aim is to have learners experience the language and culture of the Hispanic community through virtual exchanges.
